          Understanding Pathophysiological and Other Factors that Fuel Ageing-Associated Health Challenges

          As more Canadians begin to live longer lives than ever before, its important to appreciate the physiological changes that accompany ageing and the nutritional implications including but not limited to physical and sensory changes, metabolic changes, gastrointestinal changes and other factors that can also contribute to malnutrition and what some describe as the "anorexia of aging".

        3. He is currently Director of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai and the University Health Network Hospitals in Toronto.
        4. Sinha is a highly regarded clinician and international expert in the care of older adults.
        5. This talk will help to highlight the pathophysiology that leads to often aging-associated conditions like sarcopenia, osteopenia and osteoporosis and frailty. Additionally, better appreciating the social determinants that can also contribute to these conditions will be highlighted.
